The Matterhorn truly is in the middle of nowhere, roughly halfway between Catalina and Anacapa Islands.

A series of four pinnacles rise up to within 40 metres of the surface, the northwestern side of this seamount offers a sheer dropoff beyond 200 metres in depth.
