In February 2023 the fishing vessel "Matador" sunk off Redondo Beach. Fortunately the crew escaped unscathed but the vessel now lies in 60 metres on the side of the Redondo Canyon.

 

A few weeks after the accident Ocean Defenders Alliance was contacted and asked if we'd be interested in trying to remove the net from the wreck.

 

This dive was conducted to survey the condition that the net is in and to determine if removal is actually a possibility.
