Moody BG - Mar 2020 - 2048x1152.jpg

One of my favorite dives in Los Angeles, the USS Moody.

USS Moody (DD-277) was a Clemson-class destroyer in the United States Navy.

Launched in June 1919 and finally decommissioned in June 1930 she served with the Pacific Fleet visiting much of the South Pacific.

The ship was eventually sold to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for use in filming the 1933 World War I submarine movie "Hell Below" where she was blown in half, the bow and stern sections now lying on the bottom out of sight of one another in 45 metres of water off San Pedro.
